Brow After Care

Do's and Don'ts

Night before do not drink any alcohol, take any blood thinners like aspirin and day of no caffeine prior to appointment.
Botox has to be done at least 30 days prior to appointment or 2 weeks after appt.
Do not pluck, wax, or remove any brow hairs at least 4 weeks prior to appointment time.
Avoid SUN and TANNING BED exposure for 2 weeks BEFORE and AFTER your procedure.

Day of Treatment

Gently blot the area with a clean, damp cotton round to absorb excess lymph fluid. Do this every hour for the full day until oozing has stopped. Removing this fluid prevents hardening of the lymph.

Day 1-7 Cleanse (AM & PM)

Wash daily to remove bacteria, build-up of products and oils, and dead skin. (Don't worry this does not remove the pigment.) Gently wash your eyebrows each morning AND night with water and antibacterial soap we provide. With a very light touch, use your fingertips to gently cleanse the eyebrows. Rub the area with a smooth motion for 10 seconds and rinse with water insuring that all the soap is rinsed away. To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue or towel. Do not use any cleansing products containing acids ( Glycolic, lactic, or AHA) or exfoliants.

Day 1-7 Moisturize (AM & PM)

Apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment on your hand. Cut that in half and apply that half amount to each brow with your finger or a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area. Be sure NOT to OVER apply, as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The ointment should be barely noticeable of the skin. Never put the ointment on a wet or damp tattoo. You can apply ointment midday if needed.

Day 7-14 Dry Healing

Allow brow to continue to heal without any use of products including all soaps, moisturizers, sunscreen, and makeup.

Lip Blushing After Care

Day Of:

A couple of days before appointment make sure to keeps lips moisturized well to prep for the day of lip blushing.

A clean ice pack may be used for swelling if protected by a clean cloth. For the first 4 hours, use a clean cloth to gently blot any lymph fluid. After 4 hours begin using ointment to moisturize.

Do's and Don'ts:

For the first 48 hours, keep lips a dry as possible. Avoid water on treated areas
Apply ointment like Aquaphor or A&D ointment regularly, especially after eating and drinking. It is extremely important to keep lips moisturized.
Protect lips from direct sunlight, which can fade pigment and damage healing skin
Stay hydrated to support overall healing
DO NOT pick any flaking skin. Avoid all touching, rubbing or picking of lips. This can lead to infection and hinder healing.
No kissing for 7 days to prevent infection
Brush your teeth 2x/day and use a mouth rinse up to 5x/day
Avoid irritating foods (hot, salty, oily, spicy) for 7 days
Drink with a straw for 14 days
Keep lips clean with a clean cloth or tissue after eating, drinking or sweating
After 14 days, you can resume lipstick or gloss, but use NEW tube
Avoid hot tubs, pools, water activities and washing treated area for 14 days
Avoid smoking as it will reduce blood circulation and prevent healing

Piercing After Care

Cleaning

Wash your hands: Before touching your piercing, always wash your hands with mild, fragrance- free soap and warm water.
Saline solution: Use a sterile saline solution ( a mixture of non-iodized sea salt and distilled water) to clean piercing. Soak a cotton swab in the solution and gently clean around the piercing and jewelry. Do this 2-3 times a day.
Rinse thoroughly: After cleaning, rinse the piercing with water to remove any of the saline residue. Pat dry gently with a clean towel.

Avoid

Touching: Avoid touching the piercing with dirty hands or unnecessarily moving the jewelry. This can introduce bacteria and cause irritation.

Twisting or rotating: Do not twist or rotate the jewelry as this can damage tissue that is healing.

Harsh Products: Avoid using alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, ointments, or harsh antiseptics, as they can slow down the healing process.

Pools and Hot Tubs: Refrain from swimming in pools, hot tubs, and natural bodies of water until your piercing is fully healed.

Healing Time

Healing times vary depending on the type of piercing. Generally:

Earlobe: 6-8 weeks / Cartilage: 3-6 Months

Signs of Infection

If you notice any of the following symptoms, consult The Girly Birds and/or your healthcare provider:

Persistent redness / Swelling /Pain / Excessive discharge that is yellow, green, or foul smelling / increased heat around the piercing / fever / chills / or excessive discomfort

Required Documents for Minors under 18 yrs of Age

In the state of Texas, a minor (under 18 years old) can legally get their ears pierced with parental consent, and specific documentation is required under Texas Health and Safety Code §146.0125. These requirements are enforced by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). You can upload documents below or bring to studio to make a copy of. If you are not a minor you will still be required to provide a photo ID and sign a consent form for your piercing.

Parent or Legal Guardian Must Be Present The parent or legal guardian must accompany the minor to the piercing appointment.
Proof of Identity for the Minor Acceptable forms include:
- Government-issued ID (e.g., passport, state ID)
- Birth certificate (especially if the minor doesn’t have a photo ID)
Proof of Identity for the Parent or Legal Guardian Acceptable forms include:
- Driver’s license

Tattoo After Care

Congratulations on your new tattoo! Proper aftercare is essential to ensure a healthy and speedy healing process. Follow these guidelines to minimize complications and enjoy your new tattoo to the fullest.

Days 1-3

You will leave your tattoo covered with Tagaderm, a clear covering. You will leave this on the tattoo for up to 3 days, but 1 day minimum. Wear loose fitting clothing and do not irritate the tattoo area.

Cleaning and Moisturizing

Make sure your hands are clean when touching your tattoo. You will want to cleanse your tattoo after removing the Tagaderm covering. Use a fragrance free soap like Cetaphil and lightly cleanse the area thoroughly. You will want to keep your tattoo continuously moist for the first 3 weeks. Apply Aquaphor or a like product to the tattoo several times a day. Do not over saturate the tattoo.

Avoid

Minimize exposure to the sun for at least 2 weeks. Avoid swimming or submerging in fresh, salt, or chlorinated water for 2-3 weeks
